About Amitava

My academic journey began with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry. My interest then shifted towards systems biology, leading me to pursue a PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. During my PhD, I focused on understanding how network architectures and cellular heterogeneities influence cellular fate decisions from the perspective of network-based kinetic modeling. Here, I’m working with Professor Jianhua Xing. Currently, my research focuses on integrating traditional systems biology approaches with large-scale data analysis, including single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and live-cell imaging.
