My research focuses on using all-human structured biomimetic liver microphysiology systems (MPS) to model both normal and disease-state liver physiology. By coupling the use of quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) and biomimetic liver MPS as a precision medicine platform, we are able to provide new mechanistic detail and predict and/or initiate the development of novel therapeutics for MASLD/MASH as well as help to optimize patient cohort selection for clinical trials and to identify novel biomarkers and targets for drug discovery.
